Hi all, it is time once again for another great season of soccer. The first
weekend was a tremendous success. There are a few changes you may have already
noticed for this spring 2005 season. The highlights are listed below.
Concession stand - We have outsourced the running of the
concession stand this season. We have trouble getting enough volunteers to run
it that the board decided to have someone else man our concession stand.
Field layout - Our field layout has changed a bit from
the fall season. Our U9/10, U5 and U6 teams are in the same location. But now
our U7 and U8 teams are on field 2, and our U11 and up teams are on field 5.
Due to excessive wear during the tournament, the U11 and up are currently playing
on field 8 (the east football field). The U7 & U8 fields will move
some time this week, as the city has closed that field also.
Field conditions - Speaking of field conditions, we will
be monitoring field conditions each week of the season. If necessary, field
locations could vary some weeks. We are doing this to try to minimize the wear
on any one field. Currently, fields 5 and 6 are closed. Once they have been "rested"
for a few weeks, then we will move games from other fields to these fields. Next
spring this should not be as big of a problem, as the city is planning to over-seed
during our fall season.
Let me know - If you have any questions or concerns, please
email me. I plan to use this page as a forum to answer questions.
Thank you,
